A Quick Intro: The History of Wing Chun
Wing Chun Kung Fu is a Chinese Martial Art that is easy to learn without injury and is very enjoyable. The system was developed by a Buddhist nun called Ng Mui. She was responsible for a totally new concept in Martial Art thinking and revolutionised combat.

Yim Wing-chun (嚴詠春) is a historical character, often cited in Wing Chun legends as the first Wing Chun master. She was taught by a Shaolin nun and abbess Ng Mui.
She specialised in close quarter combat – after all, real fighting is at close range. One did not have to be strong, tall or heavy to overcome your opponent. The small were able to overcome the big and the weak able to overcome the strong, using exceptional skill, speed and wit. Today, this means of self-defense is potentially leathal, but extremely effective, if used correctly.
This is why Wing Chun is the Martial Artists’ Martial Art. No matter what other styles or systems you’ve trained, everyone wants to learn some of the explosive techniques from a short range, that Wing Chun has to offer.
