The Chum Kil, or ‘seeking the bridge’ form is introduced in these ranks as well as the more advanced free-fighting concepts. The Chum Kil works on angles and movement of hand and foot in unison. As the translation states, techniques are used to seek bridges or connections with an opponent or multiple attackers. Once a bridge has been found, it is crossed using movements found within any of the open hand forms.
In free-fighting both parties involved can be offensive or defensive whenever they choose. Many levels train in this modality and can start at a semi -contact level. More advanced memebers work a no-holds barred concept of sparring, where anything goes.
Fighting concepts used to improve reaction, speed, being able to stay calm and collected in very close situations. Helps students to use footwork and using there whole body as a weapon.
