Since 1987 Master Andrew Sofos has taught at the Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine in South Kensington and the University College London in Euston.

Classes consist of basic exercises, a two thousand year old Shaolin stretching program, all the basic footwork, gates ‘deflections’, not blocks, and of course the first form: Known as the Sil Lim Tao ‘Little Idea Form’.

On the fitness side, we work with focus pads and strikes shields to improve on coordination, concentration and confidence: helping you judge range, distance and power – above all, efficiency of movement. This also ties in with the strong emphasis on improving cardiovascular fitness.

It’s fast, furious and fun. Learn something that may one day save your life.

Direct methods of self defenseWe also cover the law, street self defense and other high-tension situations. This is all part of the very first syllabus you’ll work on. A very practical and direct approach to dealing with an attack.

Gradings are held regularly and all students are more than welcome to join us on our various social events and seminars.

For those who find that they wish to train more seriously and want to get to the ‘nitty-gritty’ of Wing Chun techniques, we offer first class instruction and facilities at our Headquarters, Gospel Oak – Hampstead. For more information browse the Classes section of this site.
